The meeting discussed the recent troubles that have been experienced with Python engines in the Wyvern aircraft with particular reference to: a. The fatal accident on HMS Eagle resulting in the loss of the Wyvern aircraft and pilot b. Corrosion troubles on the barametric flow control unit c. The investigation on Python engine P.256 in connection with reported explosions in the region of the air intake when flying at 12,000 feet d. Possible implication as a result of turbine nozzle inner blade ring failure experienced on the Python engine P.262 which crashed at Naples P4. Inspection of Python engine P.256 Inner blade ring failures Python flow control units (21 off ex HMS Eagle) and a summary of units returned to Armstrong Siddeley Motors on 12 October 1955 for investigation.
