Messrs. Bomford and Evershed's amended tender of £1052 for the dredging of Aldingbourne and Lidsey Rives was accepted in November 1925. Work began in the summer of 1926 and was completed by November 1926. It was decided in October of that year that sections of Elbridge, Ryebank and Yapton Rives should also be dredged, this extra work being completed in 1927
In January 1927 Bomford and Evershed were asked to furnish estimates for the dredging of Oving Rife and a further section of Aldingbourne Rife and also Easton Rife (in the Western Level) and Forbridge Rife (in the United Levels). Work began in June 1927 and was completed by the autumn of that year
