Custodial history (Describes where and how the record has been held from creation to transfer to The National Archives)
-
A collection of documents (predominantly leases of estates in western Shropshire between 1762 and 1871) found among the archive of Lord Newborough in his solicitor's office, Longueville, Gittins and Company, Oswestry, and deposited in Gwynedd Archives, whence transferred to the Shropshire Record Office, 1 November 1988.
It appears from endorsements on some of the leases that Longuevilles provided a service for both Landlords and tenants to deposit their leases for safekeeping. Some of the leases and 5344/23 may on the other hand have been separated from estate archives.
