St George's Lodge was granted a watrant to meet as No. 432 by the Moderns' Grand Lodge on 11 July 1780 and was constituted on 4 July 1780. The Lodge met at the Red Lion, New Street, Doncaster until it relocated to the Copuncil Chamber of the Town Hall in 1782. By 1797 the Lodge was meeting at a school room in the churchyard, before relocating back to the Council Chamber at the Town Hall in 1800. In 1848 the Lodge met at the New Town Hall, French Gate, the Victoria Rooms in 1866 and returned to the Town Hall, French Gate in 1873. By 1884 the Lodge met at the Masonic Rooms, Nether Hall Road and by 1916 it met at the Masonic Rooms, Priory Place, Doncaster. The Lodge met under several different numbers over time, including No. 433 in 1781, as No. 348 in 1792, as No. 447 after the union between the Moderns' and Antients' Grand Lodge to form the United Grand Lodge of England in 1813, as No. 298 in 1832 and No. 242 from 1863.
