Description

Of John Smith of Langley Mills, co. Durham, paper manufacturer, that he was well acquainted with Robert Skyring Garnett of Bank House, Barton, gentleman and wife Mary Fleming Garnett; that Robert Skyring Garnett was only once married and had 2 children (and child who died in childbirth); that "A" and "B" are correct; that he married Georgeana Kendal Garnett and they had 12 children; that "C" is correct; that "D" is correct.

- Made in City of Durham before William Marshall, commissioner to administer oaths in Chancery.

- Burial of Georgiana Kendal Smith of Langley Paper Mills, aged 44, in Brancepeth, co. Durham on 18 June 1860, copy certified as true by A Duninull Shafts, rector, "D";

- Marriage of John Smith, full age, widower, gentleman, Brancebeth, son of Anwick Smith, paper manufacturer and Georgeana Kendal Garnett, full age, spinster, Barbon, daughter of Robert Skyring Garnett, gentleman, at Barbon Chapel by licence on 29 July 1841, witnessed by Robt. Skyring Garnett, Thomas Garnett, Anne Smith and Kate Dent, copy certified as true by Edward Griffith, assistant curate on 7 April 1865, "B".
