Draft Will of Thomas [I] Cooper (of Foleshill, Coventry, ironmonger)

The testator bequeaths his household goods to his wife Ann; to his trustees the testator assigns his own house and its fixtures for sale (until when they must let Ann live there gratis); the trustees will add the testator's share of his business prosecuted with John Summers to the proceeds of his realty's sale as an aggregate fund for investment in stocks, paying dividends to Ann until their youngest child is 21 - then, £2,000 will be invested and the proceeds be enjoyed by the testator's wife during her widowhood (but only half that will be invested if she remarry); the residue of the trust-moneys will be shared among the testator's six children - Thomas [II], William and Charles will accept their shares at their majorities but Emma, Louisa and Harriet will only take half of their portions because the rest will be invested with the dividends paid to the respective daughters and their issue - a deceased child's share will be divided amongst the survivors: the testator names as trustees and executors his wife during her widowhood, William Henry Hegginbotham (of Coventry, draper) and Richard Masser (of Foleshill, grocer).
