Black and grey half-leather album, measuring 379 x 272 mm, containing snapshots mounted six to a page. The prints, many of which are uncaptioned, show varying degrees of fading, with some being severely affected. The photographs, presumably by Colonel Watson, were taken during his training in tropical medicine at Netley Hospital, England, and during the early days of his career with the Bombay Army, and include portraits of friends and colleagues, views of the hospital and patients, and miscellaneous topographical views in England and India. John Williams Watson (b. 1874) served in the Indian Medical Service from 1898-1929. In 1908 he was civil surgeon at the Consulate at Turbat-i-Haidari, south of Meshed.
