From Thomas Scoones [and seven others named] to John Newman of Cocking, yeoman, and Robert Parry (his trustee) of Heyshott, yeoman.
Recites nos. 868 and 870, and an order of the Chancery Court, 27 July 1776, that John Newman should pay £1650 for--
Tenement, buildings and close (5a.) called Sunwool Close; 14a. land; Goosegarden (4a.); Nine Acres (9a.); the Westfields (9a.); plot and three closes of meadow (12a.); 12½a. called Shortlands and Goldens [other unnamed fields]; Pottham Pitts (7a.); Wadies Land (4a.); 2½a. arable land; 6a. common. All which premises comprise 148a. [other field-names given], are in Heyshott and are called Hoe, in occ. of Stephen Challen.
