(1) pp. 5-352, Two copies of Proposed Draft (No. 128) for Court of Directors' Separate Letter to Bengal in 1805 relative to Administration of Marquis Wellesley. The second copy is signed William Ramsay and dated India House 4th April 1805. According to a pencil note there is a copy of this draft in Lord Northbrook's Papers at Stratton. (2) pp. 355-7, George Holford (for Board of Control) to William Ramsay (Secretary of the East India Company) 25th April 1805, signifying Board's disapproval of Draft 128; pp. 555-7, 19th Oct. 1805, with a new Draft prepared by the Board; pp. 611-9, 30th Nov. 1805, with Board's final reply to Court's remarks on the new Draft. (3) pp. 359-61, William Ramsay to Holford 9th May 1805, with List of References to Documents substantiating Statements made in Draft 128 and Collections of Papers on certain subjects, viz. (7) pp. 611-9, Board of Control to Court of Directors 30th Nov. 1805, Laying down firmly that in Political Matters the Court of Directors must submit to the opinion of the Home Government, i.e. that politically the Home Government had superseded the Company in India.
