Description (What the record is about)

This scribal copy of Bacon's writings on natural philosophy, is written largely in two hands and is heavily annotated and expanded in the second of these hands. It also includes on the first folio an inserted short poem by George Herbert, public Orator of Cambridge, to Lord Bacon, after the publication of Instauratio Magna, possibly written in Hobbes' hand. There are also a number of rough notes titled 'aphorismus' which have lines crossed through them.
