Brown, soft-covered photograph album measuring 195 x 280 mm, containing 69 (+ 4 loose) prints, hinge-mounted at corners, with contemporary handwritten captions. The photograph record the life in Burma of Charles Bruce Conybeare (1873-1940), an employee of the Bombay Burma Trading Corporation from around the mid-1890s to c. 1903. Many of the photographs relate to Conybeare's work in the teak industry in the Mu Forest area of Upper Burma, with views of timber being felled and transported. There are also general scenes of Burmese life and views and portraits of Conybeare and European colleagues. Conybeare was invalided out of Burma in the early 1900s and thereafter farmed in Kenya until 1921, when he returned to England.
