Administrative / biographical background

In 1945 The Wolverhampton Metal Company Ltd, Wednesfield, acquired the metal concentrating business formerly known as 'F W Parsons'. This metal manufacturer and refiners were specially laid out for treating very low-grade material by unusual but efficient methods of concentration at the Charles Henry Street Metal Works, Birmingham. This source of smelting made a valuable contribution to the supplies of The James Bridge Copper Works Ltd, Walsall, another subsidiary of The Wolverhampton Metal Company Ltd, Wednesfield.
