Description (What the record is about)
-
Mr. Sherrat wants to borrow £1,400 for which, with his old debt of £200 he proposes as security a mortgage of his estate in Stoke-upon-Tearn of £120 p.a. and upwards. He has left Chambre the title, which seems very clear. He wants this money and £4/10/-d. %, to which Chambre could not well consent, but he has submitted wholly to Hill what interest he should pay. His character is that of an honest industrious man and punctual. The money to be paid by midsummer.
Until he hears from Hill Chambre will forbear returning the £100 he received of Pratchett's money and any more money that comes in to save the trouble of remitting. Post Script - This is Mr. Sherrad of Gravenhunger.
