The Mid Surrey Health District was formed in1974, becoming the Mid Surrey Health Authority in 1982. On 1 April 1995 it joined with the East Surrey Health Authority to form the Eastern Surrey Commissioning Agency. On 1 April 1996 the Eastern Surrey Commissioning Agency was renamed the East Surrey Health Authority.
