The Royal Sussex Lodge of Hospitality No. 187 was established in 1769 and met at the Shakespeare Tavern, King Street, Bristol. In1769 the lodge was named the Lodge of Hospitality. In 1788 the lodge united with the Sea Captains' Lodge No. 445, of the Three Tuns, Corn Street, Bristol and in 1805 the lodge was renamed the Old Sea Captains' Lodge of Hospitality. In 1814 the lodge was renamed the Royal Sussex Lodge of Hospitality. The lodge now meets at Freemasons' Hall, Park Street, Bristol.
