Hester Cholmondeley, Lady Viscountess Malpas or Lady Malpas, wife of Visct. Malpas.

Recital Indenture 21 October last between Lord Visct. Malpas and Dame Hester (1) Henry Jenks (2) Francis Turner Blithe (3) reciting a fine levied in Mich. term then last and a deed to declare the uses thereof of 30 Dec. 1748 and an indenture of 12 April last by which George Lord Malpas and Dame Hester in order to raise £2,500 to discharge the debts of Lord M in a schedule delivered in by him to Henry Jenks etc. and for the further limitation and appointment of the Manor, houses and lands etc. in the fine limited and appointed to Henry Jenks the said Manor, houses, lands etc. to the use of Henry Jenks etc. for 500 yrs on trust to raise by sale or mortgage £2,500 to pay off the debts in the schedule, and the rest to pay such debts as Ld. M. directed.
Henry Jenks procured £500 which was paid to Ld. M. and a bond was given by Lord M. to F. T. Blithe for payment of the £500 on 21 Sept. last with interest; Lord M. needed a further £600 for some of his debts in the schedule, the indenture of 21 Oct. witnessed that for £500 due on the bond and £600 = £1,100 to Lord M. from F.T.B., Hy Jenks by direction of Ld. M. and Dame Hester mortgaged to F.T.B. the capital messuage with the gardens, coachhouse, stable etc. in Shrewsbury called the Colledge and several houses with gardens, coachhouses, warehouses, stables, gardens etc. in the Pa. of St. Chad, Shrewsbury, near adjoining the College and late the estate of Sir Francis Edwards bart.; a messuage, farm and lands in Nobold, Pa. of Meole Brace (then Richard Fewtrell @ £53 10s. p.a.) and several pieces of ground in Pa. of Meole Brace (Mordecai Downes @ £26 10s. p.a.). To F.T.B. for 400 yrs with proviso for redemption on payment of £1,100 and interest on 21 January then next, now past.
Whereas Lord M. has need of a further £500 to pay some of his debts in the schedule and Henry Jenks has procured the same, so for £500 from F.T.B., Lord M. and Dame Hester agree that the property shall be security for the £500 as well as £1,100.
