The Church of St Anne, Park Hill, Moseley, was consecrated on 22 September 1874 as a daughter church of St Mary, Moseley and was granted parish status six months later. Building work commenced in December 1872, the cost being born by Rebecca Anderton, sole surviving member of the Anderton family of Moseley, Wake Green. The architect was Frederick Preedy and the site was the gift of W F Taylor of Moseley Hall.
The church was badly affected by bombing during World War II; the worst incident of 3 December 1940 rendered the church unfit for worship. The parish hall was subsequently licensed for all services including marriages. Restoration was completed in 1948, the service of reconsecration being celebrated on 25 September. (See A History of St Anne, by George Hearn, (1974).)
The parish was originally in the Deanery of Kings Norton in the Diocese of Worcester. The Deanery was incorporated in the new Diocese of Birmingham in 1905 and St Anne's was included in the Moseley Deanery when this was formed by the division of Kings Norton Deanery in 1958.
