Description (What the record is about)
-
Grant file containing correspondence, minutes, agendas, payments summary, annual reports, photograph and funding requests relating to Youthwise: Warstock and Billesley Detached Youth Work Project based at the Warstock Community Centre (WCC). Funding source(s): Barrow and Geraldine S. Cadbury Trust, Paul S. Cadbury Trust. Applicant overview: The WCC was originally established at a registered charity in 1963 to serve the needs of the Warstock and Maypole community. The initial name of this organisation was the Warstock and Maypole Neighbourhood Group. The WCC was re-launched over 1979 to 1980 and adopted a new constitution in 1980. The Youthwise Project was set up in 1985 by the B3 Police Consultative Committee as a detached youth work project. This means that work done with young people is proactive rather than reactive. The project aims to befriend young people, offer advice, information and counselling, and provide opportunities, which they may not otherwise have. Nature of support: In 1982 the Trust approved three annual grants of £1,000 to establish the WCC. In 1985 this grant was rescinded. In 1986 the Paul S. Cadbury Trust agreed to a single grant of £2,500 towards the purchase of a vehicle for use by youth workers. Minutes: B&GSCT 5471, B&GSCT 6313, PSCT 446. Notes: File organised from newest to oldest. File not numbered.
