Correspondence and papers of Collins concerning South Africa:

Papers concerning the Fund for African Democracy founded by Emil Solomon Sachs formerly general secretary of the Garment Workers Union in South Africa, for the promotion of trade unions, the support of democratic publications, and the legal defence of victims of persecution in South Africa, 1953-6. Collins was a trustee of the fund (ff.1-127).

Correspondence and papers concerning an appeal by Richard Ambrose Reeves, Bishop of Johannesburg, to Christian Action for financial assistance for the periodical Saamtrek, a South African trade union paper printed in English and Afrikaans, 1954 (ff.128-85).

Correspondence and papers concerning attempts by Christian Action to assist the publication of the South African quarterly journal Africa South and the banning of the editor Ronald Segal under the Suppression of Communism Act, 1958-60 (ff.186-223).

Correspondence and papers concerning Christian Action and the Boycott Campaign for the boycott of South African goods, which became the Anti-Apartheid Movement, 1959-60 (ff.224-84).
