The donor was born Lilia Clarkson in 1909 in Walton where she lived until 1970. Her father Samuel Clarkson was the blacksmith in Walton and her mother, Hannah (nee Royde born 1890) was one of 8 or 9 children. The Roydens had a farm in Bidston opposite the Church. The donor married William Rowan who worked as a clerk on the railways.
The donor does not know the identities of many of the people in the album, although they are mostly of the Royden family.
