The Church of Matthew Ridley, Bishop and Martyr was built in 1957 as a daughter church of St John's, Welling to serve the new suburb of Falconwood.
The following year the Church was consecrated by the Bishop of Rochester and awarded its own conventional District. In 1989 it was erected into a Parish in its own right.
