Two sets of two 60 horse power side lever boat engines, with 50 horse engine framing.Cross-section of the boat and engines, plan of the deck beams, longitudinal section of the engine room and boiler, plan of the engines and boiler and sleepers - reverse drawings made in the London office; upper headstock for 60 horse boat engine with 50 horse framing - partially shaded reverse drawing marked "altered from this, see headstock for Herne Bay 60s"; upper headstock for 60 horse boat engine with 50 horse framing - original and reverse drawings; cross-section of 60 horse headstock with 50 horse frame - drawing made in the London office; sections and plan of boiler - 2 partially coloured reverse drawings (also used for Carron and City of Glasgow); upper headstock frame - partially coloured original and partially coloured reverse drawings made in the London office; sketch of paddle and shafts (marked for No. 1 only).

For the New Herne Bay Steam Packet Co. Red Rover is referred to in T. Tredgold, The Steam Engine, p. 474. Henry Hazleton allocated separate portfolio numbers to the boats, despite the fact that they did not have separate drawings; Red Rover was Pf. 1158 and City of Canterbury was Pf. 1159.
