The Corporation built 110 flats on Sish Lane, known variously as 'Stony Hall', 'Stony Hall, Block C', 'Stoney Hall' and 'Chauncy House', as part of the first wave of housing developments, prior to the town's Master Plan being finalised. Initial plans were for 221 tall flats but this was reduced to 110 dwellings. The work did not start until Apr 1950 and was completed in the summer of 1952.
