Description

Annual returns giving names, professions and residence of members of the Lodge at the George Inn, Haymarket, Leicester [Antients] and general correspondence relating to the running of the lodge. Includes letters concerning the Modern Masons and the setting up of new lodges. Years 1776 - 1792 are not extant.

Administrative / biographical background

The unnamed lodge was established in 1761 and met at an unknown location in Leicester. In 1775 the lodge moved to the Crown and Thistle, Loseby Lane, Leicester. In 1801 the lodge met at the George Inn, Haymarket, Leicester and the meetings remained there until the lodge was erased in 1821.
