Following the merger of the Paul S. Cadbury Trust with the Barrow and Geraldine S. Cadbury Trust in 1994 a major reorganisation of grant categories occurred at the Barrow Cadbury Trust. Not all outstanding grants were accommodated by the new classification structure and a miscellaneous category entitled 'other grants' was established to house stray files. Only eight grants were assigned to this new category. These were drawn in part from the defunct Society of Friends and other churches and policy development and local services categories. Common to the relatively small number of grants assigned to this category in a given year were Friends grants and those to organisations working to support and coordinate the activities of charitable organisations including the Association of Charitable Foundations and the West Midlands Charities Information Bureau.
In 2003/2004 the other grants category was deleted as part of a further reorganisation of grant categories. Outstanding grants under this heading were wound up or transferred to one of the new programme groups.
Current issues was a short-lived and apparently Fund specific category used during 1999/2000 for projects of immediate topical importance that could not be placed elsewhere in the classification stricture. While only a single grant is referenced in the 1999/2000 annual report several grant files postdating this period have been encountered under the 'current issues' heading. It is possible these were attached to the 'other grants' category in post-1999/2000 annual reports. It appears any use of this category was wound up by 2002.
