'An Accurate Map of the Matchless Lake of Derwent [Derwent Water]'. 2 editions of the same plan.1) Includes 6 sketches: 1) 'Bowdar Stone'; 2) 'Finkle Street House'; 3) 'Crosthwaite Church'; 4) Barrow Cascade Hall'; 5) 'Casthwaite's Observatory'; 6) 'The Island House of Jos [Joseph] Pocklington Esq'. Includes one view: 1) 'Lofty Skiddow'. Latitude and longitude referred to in remarks. Map shows coastline, hydrography, roads, settlements, buildings, land marks and remarks. Printed. Scale: 2.8 inches to 1 mile. Surveyed by Peter Crosthwaite, Admiral at Keswick Regatta; engraved by S [Samuel] Neele. Published on the 16 June 1783; republished with additions, 1 December 1788; sold by Peter Crosthwaite. Annotated with black ink: '(Earlier Edition same No [number] and Folio)'.
