The collection of Documents, Deeds, Accounts etc: contained in this Book were taken from a chest in the Vestry of Tawstock Church in 1926 where they had lain hidden for a number of years and had suffered much from damp and depradations of mice.
Only a few of the most interesting and antique are included, as several Books of this size would be required to mount them all and also a very great many of them would be duplicate.
Those that are not shewn in this Book have been carefully sorted and replaced in the Vestry for safe keeping.
The work of collecting, sorting, drying, cleaning and in the preparation of this book was undertaken during the years 1926 to 1930 by CASTELL WREY July 1930
