We were told yesterday that AV Roe are anxious to fit Sapphire engines in the Vulcan. Non-delivery of the Olympus engine and the low thrust of the Avon is the explanation according to Mr Davies. The Sa.7 is the engine they want as soon as it is available. In the meantime they will accept the Sa.6 in order to effect the Sapphire change by next Spring
