Description

Folios 723-725. Letter from James Saunders, Clerk to the East Dereham Local Government District Local Board in the Mitford and Launditch Poor Law Union, to the Local Government Board, enclosing a declaration in respect of expenditure of loan of £700.
'Return of Expenditure, Statutory Declaration' form under an Advance under the Public Works Loans Act, 1875', from Saunders, Clerk to the East Dereham Local Government District Local Board in the Mitford and Launditch Poor Law Union, to the Local Government Board. The form records the date, amount and purpose of the loan as for water supply as well as the current state of payments. Particulars of expenditure are given including monies to Reverend W Freeman, Messrs Russ and Minns, Architects, Francis Sutton, B Latham, Engineer, John Villiers and William Hubbard.

Annotated: 'The RSA [Rural Sanitary Authority] borrowed £1700 and spent £921 3s 11d leaving £778 16s 1d which was handed over to the Local Board. The Local Board account in this Return for an expenditure of £700 out of the above £778 16s 1d and also £152 18s 0d out of a subsequent loan for water works. When the loan of £4000 is accounted for only £74 1s 11d should be brought forward unless the £78 16s 1d is accounted for with a further loan for sewerage'.
