Roll of Honour, Vol II, Sect 2, p 80 - Portrait: Son of Edwin Frank Heaven of 147 Stapleton Hall Rd, London N. by his wife Agnes Amelia, d. of the late Thos Durrant; born Hornsey, 30/1/1897, educ the Statationers Company School there. Was a clerk in Barclays Bank;joined 16 London (TF) in Nov 1915 Served BEF F&F from July 1916;was wounded on the Somme 1/10/16 and on recovery and after a period of training at Bisley and Grantham was gazetted 2Lt MGC 6/9/17. Ret France Oct 1917 and was KIA at Templeux 21/3/18. One of his men, captured at the time and a POW until the armistice said" He was a gentleman to all and liked by everyone and stuck to his gun to the end. He died a hero and is buried nr Rosnor and Templeux Quarries". Unmarried.;
