Gallantry Notes: MC: For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty while in command of one Vickers gun. He kept his gun in action in face of direct enemy machine gun fire and when compelled to withdraw it 100 yards went back for ammunition to his original position. While there, he saw a wounded man lying 200 yards off and went out and brought him in. He displayed fine courage throughout.;
