Description (What the record is about)
-
This series consists of the minutes of the Staff Administration Committee, which existed for the years 1934 to 1939. Prior to that date, staffing matters (including the Inspectorate) fell within the remit of the Finance and General Purposes Committee, as it did again after the end of the war, except for the Inspectorate, and reference should be made to those record series. This series however includes the minutes of post-war ad hoc committees and sub-committees concerned with Staff Adminstration, except for the Inspectorate committees which are included in the records of the Inspectorate. Also, reports of inquiry on individual staff (including Inspectors) are included in the Chief Secretary's Reports, while records relating to the appointment by Council of senior officers are to be found in Governance records.
