These are the papers of John de Whelpdale (formerly Hutchinson) of the Mansion House, Bishop Yards, Penrith, JP, DL, who died 16 March 1844 aged 85. Andrew Hudleston of HJ Esq., and T D Bleaymire of Penrith (solicitor), Esq., were his trustees. The papers also concern the estate after his death, until 1855.
