Folio 718. Draft letter from the Local Government Board to William F Wray, assistant overseer for the parish of East Dereham in the Mitford and Launditch Poor Law Union. They acknowledge receipt of his letter of 9 December 1880 in which he offered an explanation to the remarks made by the district auditor in respect of his recent audit of the accounts for the half year ending 25 March 1880, the books including transactions up to 24 April 1880. The explanation they find unsatisfactory as his attention is called to similar irregularities after the audits of his accounts for the half years ended, Michaelmas 1874 and Lady Day 1875. They therefore caution him that if any further irregularity in the same respect should occur, they will notice his conduct most seriously.
Paper Number: 108631/G/1880.
