Two 100 horse power side lever boat engines, with 53 inch cylinders, 5 foot strokes.Sections and plan of boiler, cross-section of the boat and engines, plan of the engine deck beams and longitudinal section of the engine room and boiler, plan of the engine sleepers, side view of the gangway wale (partially coloured), plan of the engines and engine sleepers (partially shaded), plan and section of the lower engine platform, side view of the gangway wale and paddle casing - reverse drawings made in the London office; upper headstock frame - coloured drawing; steam stop valves adapted to the Monarch - partially coloured original and partially coloured reverse drawings made in the London office; injection, feeding hand pump pipes - partially coloured original and reverse drawings made in the London office; section and plan of coal boxes; section at aft bulkhead showing situation of aft blow out cocks and pipes - reverse drawing made in the London office; sections of hold down bolts - partially shaded original and reverse drawings made in the London office, with partially shaded direct copy; feeding, blow out, injection and hand pump pipes, sketch for placing the gauge punches - reverse drawings made in the London office; hold down bolts - full size coloured drawing; throttle valve and additional disengaging gear - partially coloured reverse drawing made in the London office; working gear - coloured drawing. Most of these drawings bear letter codes.
Also the following uncoded drawings, sketches etc.: note of dimensions of the boat; rough sketch of hand railing sent to the Foundry; sketch of stays between upper headstocks; memorandum - "Observations on the Monarch's Engines with Suggestions for Various alterations in the Pacha's 110s", by James Brown (7 pages).

For the London & Edinburgh Steam Packet Co. The boat was later sold to the General Steam Navigation Co.
