60 horse power side lever boat engine for land, with 42 inch cylinder, 4 foot stroke.Partially coloured longitudinal section of the engine house; reverse plan of the engine house, plan of the tunnel and covering stones, plan and sections of the boiler; steam pipes - shaded direct copy; governor and gearing - coloured reverse drawing (this drawing was also used for Thomas Harrison & Sons); list of the stones required for the foundation, sketches of the stones by William Bennett; sketch external elevations of the engine house; plan and elevation of shafts and wheels marked "Copied from Hewes & Wren's drawing"; sections of the engine house and mill and small sketch plan showing old 60 horse beam engine; small pencil sketch plan showing engines, weaving room and card room. The reverse and direct copy drawings bear letter codes.

For Hugh Beaver. Textile mill, Jersey St., Manchester. Beaver had previously ordered a 60 horse crank engine in 1824 [see Portfolio 5/489].
