Administrative / biographical background

Lodge of Friendship was granted a warrant by the Moderns' Grand Lodge on 13 April 1791 to meet in Gibraltar as No. 577. In 1792 this number changed to No. 486 [SN 1197] and the Lodge sent its last payment of subscriptions and contributions to the Freemasons' Hall Fund in 1800. The Lodge was erased when the Antients' and Moderns' Grand Lodges formed a union in 1813 to form the United Grand Lodge of England.
