In addition to minutes, the deposit includes much company documentation, especially from the period of Chrysler UK (1964-78). The records reflect two changes of ownership and management style, a period of severe industrial relations problems, made more difficult by external economic and trading conditions, and the closure of the Linwood plant, 1981.

The Modern Records Centre uses a classification scheme (see the Centre's home page), which is compatible with the General International Standard Archival Description (ISAD(G)). The archive has been catalogued to file level.

<p>Coventry City Record Office has a significant deposit of Rootes records (Acc. 1690). The Museum of British Road Transport, Coventry holds Rootes Group commercial and technical material.</p>

A major deposit of Rootes/Chrysler/Peugeot Talbot shop stewards' records deriving from David Edwards, TGWU convenor and Coventry city councillor, was made in May 1992. In addition to minutes, the deposit includes much company documentation, especially from the period of Chrysler UK (1964-78).
