In the final Medical Board report of October 1950 Bradbury's diagnosis is given as 'Chest injury with neurosis' and also noted as an unconnected condition 'Has been accepted as suffering from pneumoconiosis (less than 5%)'.A report from an aural specialist stated 'bilateral objective deafness' and did not rule out this being a consequence of the accident. In March 1953 Bradbury asked for his case to be reopened stating 'I am considerably worse than when I was last examined' stating he had not worked for 3½ years. The Tribunal stated: ' The Claimant's condition is taking the anticipated course [...]there has been no unforeseen and substantial aggravation'. A letter from AB Gordon, Vicar of Old Brampton, expressing concerns about Bradbury dated 7 January 1954 is included, with : 'Can you tell me please if the Union has any way of challenging [...] this result of his final appeal? If not, would there be any objection to my trying to get legal aid for him to bring an action in the Courts?' Final form shows an award of Special Hardship Allowance in 1956. -
