Description

Printed copy of abstracts from letters received from Josephine Butler. Issued on Ladies National Association headed paper. Written from Pension Buchegg Muri pres Bern. Writes to excuse her long silence, which has been caused by the very serious illness of her husband (rheumatic fever which has affected his heart).

Federation Business: Asks the Secretaries if they will send round a lithographed letter to all members explaining her situation. Hopes they will help the funds. Urges that they must never give up till they have avenged the wrongs of the Indian and Chinese women as well as others; and she begs that they continue a separate women's organisation for at least a year.

Oct 27 - they managed to move her husband from Muri to Bernerhof.
