Draft Declaration

By Thomas Glenn (of Foleshill, Warws., yeoman) that he knew Mary Lynes (of Foleshill, spinster) who died on 14th. May [, 1860] at his house, because in 1839 they were both gaoled for debt at Coventry until J. White and W.G. Cole were satisfied [with repayment] - William Henry Seymour, coroner was employed for the plaintiffs; that Mary Lynes was entitled to life-interest in £400 3% annuities, and that it was intended that she make a £90 assurance-policy which, with the life-interest, was to be transferred to W.H. Seymour and Thomas Dewes; that the policy was made on 18th. May, 1839 with the West of England Insurance Office so that she should have interest for life but that thereafter the judgement-debt should be discharged; and hence, that they were discharged and T. Dewes received the money until M. Lynes' death.
