The memorandum discusses Preferential Certificate entitlement by widows of ex-employees. Mr Fildes confirms that a widow of an ex-employee who has accepted a lump sum in cancellation of his Preferential Certificate would not have a case for a claim. Mr McLean has enclosed a copies of a letter from Mr Barnish and the wording used for the Hudson receipts.

Copy of a letter from Mr Barnish to Mr McLean seeking confirmation that the wording used by Hudsons for obtaining a receipt from discharged employees against further claims on the Co-Partnership Trust should be used for other cases in the future.
