He was the son of James Hurt of Wirksworth Derbs. and of Mary Margaret daughter of Thomas Webb Edge of Strelley and was rector of Bilborough with Strelley 1853-1869. He was presented to the living by James Thomas Edge and died at Boulogne 25 Oct. 1868.
