Folio 382. Draft letter from the Local Government Board to James Saunders, Clerk to the Urban Sanitary Authority of East Dereham in the Mitford and Launditch Poor Law Union. They sanction the appointment of William Henry Nankivell as inspector of nuisances for the East Dereham Urban Sanitary District until 29 September 1880, at a salary of £20 per annum. They request that upon expiry of the term of appointment they are informed of the proposed arrangements for the discharge of the duties for this office.
Annotated: 'Nothing subsequent as to MoH [Medical Officer of Health] and I of N [Inspector of Nuisances]'. 20 October 1880.
Annotated: 'I concur but, obtain from K2 mention of Doctor Vincent's letter referring to his resignation of office of Medical Officer of Health in writing but appears that the Board are aware of such resignation'. Courtney Boyle. 22 October 1880.
