Records including:-

a) Printed abstract of title of the Right Honourable the Countess of Cardigan, as tenant for life of the Cardigan Settled Estates, 1888.

b) supplemental manuscript abstract of deeds relating to the life interest of the Countess of Cardigan in the Estates settled by the will of the late Earl of Cardigan 1889.

c) Particulars of sale of Kirkstall Abbey and the Abbey House by Messers Chunnock, Galsworthy and Chimnock, Land Agents of London, 1888. Also illustrated and historical account 1888.

d) Press cuttings, mostly mounted on loose sheets of paper relating to the purchase by Colonel North from Yorkshire Post, Leeds Express, Yorkshire Weekly Post and Daily Telegraph 1888.

e) A number of drafts, copies of documents, lists of abstracts of deeds and other documents of Cardigan Estates, Purchase of Kirkstall Abbey, 1888-1890.

f) Sale by auction of Cardigan Settled Estates, Lots 70 and 71, Kirkstall Abbey, draft requisition on Title 1889.

g) Draft deed of Acknowledgement from the Countess of Cardigan to Colonel John T North 28th Nov 1890.

h) Draft deed of gift of Kirkstall Abbey from Colonel John T North to Mayor, Aldermen and Burgesses of the Borough of Leeds 1st Dec 1890.

i) Draft conveyance of Kirkstall Abbey and the Abbey House at Kirkstall from the Countess of Cardigan to Colonel John T North 28th Nov 1890.

j) Copy of Indenture of lease of Abbey House and Kirkstall Abbey and Lands for 21 years from 13th Feb 1872 from Right Honourable Earl Howe and others to John O Butler Esquire.

k) Various drafts and copies regarding Kirkstall abbey and Abbey House concerning Colonel North, Edmund Wilson, Lady Cardigan, The Leeds Corporation and Curzon Howe c1888-1890.
