Reports results of searches of registers commissioned by the Earl to identify Henry Knollis, a presumed son of Sir Francis Knollis or one of his descendants. Has not found him in the registers of Lower Wickenden between 1563 and 1785, nor thus far in Thame. Copies of 17th cent entries relating to Knollis at Winchester are given. Advises that other parties are seeking similar information and they are reported to be claimants [?to the estate of Lady Knollys, wife of Sir Francis]. Offers his services to manage the estates if the Earl is successful, stressing his need for extended employment to support his large family
