Drawings of places connected with Padma Sambhava, 'Guru Rinpoche'. Inscribed:. 'No.1' (top left quarter). '1. View of the Guru Rinpochis Gunpa' [dgon-pa]' at Sumyé' [bSam-yas]' called Chingpo' [hphyin-phu],' a place where the dead are disposed of as seen in the picture' [caption:' bsam-yas-hphyin-phu-dmar-ki-tshad']. '2. Lungdulphuk' [caption:' klu-hdul-phug']' a large cave where the Guru resided.'. '3. Are a series of caves called Kangkotra' [caption:' gan sku-rdza-ri']' forming the word Hom' [hum]' supposed to have been miraculously constructed by the Guru.'. 'No.2' (top right quarter). '1. Trayangtsong' [caption:' sgrags-yan-rdzon']' a mountain out of which an i mmense number of caves are constructed by Sangye Yéshé' [caption under his portrait:' sans-rgyas-ye-ses']' the chelah of Guru Rinpochi; at the side are poorbas [phur-pa -' pegs, also ritual daggers]' stuck into the rock; it is a nunnery or chomo gunpa.'. '2. Turr' [caption:' gter-khun' i.e. treasure hole]' a place in which the Guru's property is said to be buried or placed in a cave.'. 'No. 3' (bottom left quarter). '1. Patottahtsung' [spa-gro-stag tsan]' a residence of the Guru Rinpochi.'. '2. Tatunghurr' [stag-tsan-sar]' erected by the Guru's chelah Pèlgyi Sunké' [dPal-gyi-sen-ge, picture at top left]. '3. Taksunguchentsémo' [stag-tsan-u-rgyan-tse-mo]' a gumpo of the Dugpa Raja.'. '4. Chomo gunpa, or a nunnery' [caption:' spa-gro-tsan-dgon-pa']. '5. Patropunlop gunpa' [spa-gro-dpon-slab-kyi-dgon-pa]. 'No.4' (bottom right quarter). '1. Lhotrag (also) Nunketrag' [caption:' lho-brag-rnam-skas-brag] a mountain very difficult of access, 10 days from Sumyé ascended by steps' [with iron pegs; caption: 'lcag-phur-can']' made by Gelong Numké-nyingbo' ['dge-slon-nam-mkahi-snin-po;' caption under his portrait]' in which are numerous caves.'.
