Folios 366-378. Annual report of the Inspector of Nuisances for East Dereham Urban Sanitary District of the Mitford and Launditch Poor Law Union the year ended 1879: includes summary of the years progress resulting from the action taken by the Inspector of Nuisances and applications for new and improvements to existing buildings as approved by the Board and scavenger report under Towns Improvement Clause Act910 & 11 Vic c 34). Also includes details of the death rate for 1879, principal diseases amongst paupers, principal causes of death by disease and other non-medical reasons, vital statistics for the year 1879, a report on cases of zymotic disease and infant mortality, a meteorology report and pauper sickness. Place names noted under list of applications for new buildings and improvements are: 2 new houses at Wellington Road and Yaxham Road, East Dereham; 6 new cottages at London and Cemetery Road, East Dereham and Toftwood; slaughterhouse, Norwich Road, East Dereham; tailors shop, Market Place, East Dereham; shop fronts and alterations, High Street and Quebec Street, East Dereham; public room as Bull Inn, High Street and shop in Norwich Street, East Dereham.
Table of New Cases of Sickness form B and Table of Deaths form A both for year 1879 and with explanatory notes for the Urban Sanitary District of East Dereham. The forms provide a statistical account against measles, scarlatina, whooping cough, enteric fever, puerperal fever, phthisis, bronchitis, pneumonia and pleurisy, heart disease, injuries and disease not named on form. The forms are signed by Henry Bird Vincent, Medical Officer of Health, 28 January 1880.

Annotated: 'I do not think the Board can accept this as an annual report of the Medical Officer of Health it is described as "Annual report by Inspector of Nuisances", it does not deal in anyway with sanitary improvements as regards such matter as water supply nor is the question of sewage touched upon. Ask for report of Medical officer of health', 25 February 1880.
