Original Portfolio or 'Book' No. 813. Catalogue of Old Engines p. 316.

For H. M. Navy. Carron's drawings were kept in the same book as those for the Alban [see Portfolio 5/1222]. In Mar. 1832 Carron was being used for Channel and harbour services, and on packet services to the Mediterranean. In late 1838 it was proposed to fit the Carron with the engines from the navy tug Meteor [see Portfolio 5/1221] and increase them to 60 horse power, but this plan does not appear to have been carried out. Carron was broken up in 1877.
