Description (What the record is about)

Mabel Lapthorn studied art under Taylor's father. Her portrait drawing of Taylor hung in his room at 'Farmfield' (a copy is in E.5). There seems to have been a strong attachment between them in early years, and Miss Lapthorn remained a faithful and assiduous correspondent, though it will be seen that only a small proportion of her letters survives.
